How the skill tree works
The skill tree uses Stardust, your meta currency earned from completing runs. There are four trees: Life (defensive upgrades), Destruction (offensive upgrades), Imagination (economy and utility), and a character-specific tree unique to each Traveler. The first three trees are shared across all characters, making early investments universally valuable.
Life tree
The Life tree provides defensive upgrades: increased maximum health, armor, healing received, and barrier strength. The capstone ability reduces your Dodge cooldown globally, which is valuable on every Traveler. Prioritize this tree if you die frequently on harder difficulties. The healing increase nodes are especially valuable for Aurena players.
Destruction tree
The Destruction tree increases your offensive power: flat ability power, attack damage, critical strike chance, and elemental damage bonuses. The capstone enhances your ultimate ability. This tree provides the most direct damage increase and is essential for clearing higher difficulties faster. Ability power nodes benefit all Travelers.
Imagination tree
The Imagination tree improves your in-run economy: increased gold gain, Dream Dust generation, vendor refresh discounts, and starting bonuses. The three platinum coins node lets you refresh vendors more freely. This tree accelerates your in-run power growth, which compounds into faster Stardust earning. Invest here early to speed up your overall progression.
Character-specific trees
Each Traveler has a unique tree with upgrades specific to their kit. These trees unlock new starting abilities, enhance signature skills, and provide character-specific quality of life improvements. Check your character select screen to see which upgrades are available. Prioritize the character tree after the shared trees have a solid foundation.
Spending priorities
Early game: invest in Imagination for Dream Dust generation and gold gain, then Destruction for ability power. Mid game: add Life tree nodes for survivability on harder difficulties. Late game: complete character-specific trees and capstone abilities. Dodge cooldown reduction in the Life tree is universally valuable and should be prioritized when available. Respec is available if you want to change your allocation.
