Shape of Dreams Boss Guide

Complete boss strategies for all bosses in Shape of Dreams. Attack patterns, dodge timing, and build tips for Belphomet, Infernus, White Night, Azraq, and more.

Boss overview

Shape of Dreams features nine bosses across three regions plus the final boss encounter. Each boss has multiple phases and telegraphed attack patterns. Bosses do not respond to crowd control effects unless you equip the Harmless Whispers lucid dream modifier. Clear smaller enemies before engaging, and spend Dream Dust at the last well before the boss room.

Belphomet (Region 1 Boss)

Belphomet is the first boss you encounter. It has relatively simple attack patterns that teach the dodge timing system. Stay at medium range and watch for its telegraphed area attacks. Use your Dodge charges to avoid the initial hit, then counter-attack during the recovery window. This boss is manageable even with suboptimal builds.

Infernus (Region 1 Boss)

Infernus uses fire-based area attacks that cover large sections of the arena. Keep moving and do not commit to long attack animations. Dodge toward the edges of attacks rather than away from them, as many of Infernus abilities have delayed secondary hits. Fire resistance Essences can help if available.

White Night and Azraq (Region 2 Bosses)

White Night features light-based attacks with fast telegraphs that require quick reactions. Stay aggressive during its recovery phases. Azraq uses water and ice attacks that can slow your movement. Build dodge speed and avoid getting cornered. Both bosses require better gear than Region 1, so ensure your Memories and Essences are upgraded before entering.

Apollonas and Seeker (Region 3 Bosses)

Apollonas is a high-damage boss that punishes positioning mistakes. Stay at range if possible and use the arena obstacles for cover. Seeker has tracking attacks that require constant movement. Do not stand still for channeled abilities; reposition between casts. Both bosses benefit from builds with strong defensive tools like Ice Shield.

Nyx, Erebos, and Primus (Late-game Bosses)

Nyx uses shadow-based attacks with delayed hit zones. Watch the ground indicators and move before the attack lands. Erebos combines multiple elemental attack types and requires you to adapt your positioning throughout the fight. Primus is the most mechanically demanding boss before the final encounter, with multi-phase attacks that change patterns at health thresholds.

Final boss tips

The final boss has multiple phases that reference mechanics from earlier bosses. Bring a fully upgraded build with defensive Essences stacked. Save your Dodge charges for telegraphed attacks rather than using them reactively. In co-op, designate one player as the primary healer (Aurena) while others focus on damage. The fight has no enrage timer, so prioritize survival over speed.
